Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin is his name, When the New York Knicks thought that their troubles all season were going to be at the point guard position, this kid came out of nowhere. A Harvard grad standing at 6 foot 3 weighing 200 pounds was a no-name coming up. His dream schools were to go and play for Cal or Stanford (both wanting him to walk on). Brown and Harvard were the only two schools to give him a guaranteed spot on the team (neither giving scholarships). This years past draft was a bust for Lin, thinking that he was going to be picked no team called his name that night. He got involved in the summer league playing for the defending champions Dallas Mavs summer team. He got a few different offers but decided to go with the Golden state Warriors, after being waived this off season by the Warriors then the Rockets finally he found himself a home in New York. He is certainly there to stay. Hes scored 136 points in his last 5 games the most any player in the history of the NBA has scored in their first 5 games started passing Shaq by about 20 points. None were bigger than this 3 last night. I will have more to come on what people are calling Linsanity

This I Believe

I believe that Americas favorite pass time is becoming something that its four fathers did not see in the future. A game that became a business and now is becoming so much more. The additions that the major leagues has made in recent years consist of new ways of officiating the game. Instant replay has become a huge part of the game today. Obviously you play the game to win but when you are (as a manager) going against the official; which for so long in the game has gotten you tossed, you are now able to argue and be proven correct by video replay. We all know that humans are prone to make mistakes, they are human after all. Instant replay could become one of the biggest game changers. That or the use of steroids. Last years national league MVP Ryan Braun one of the games best players was found to be using steroids. He will be serving a 50 game suspension as a punishment from the league to start the 2012 MLB season. Steroids have changed the game making season ending injury's into 6 to 8 week recovery periods. Records have been broken by people that were for sure on steroids. I believe the game should change and bring it back to its original ideas.

Did Pujols deserve it?

Albert Pujols was signed by the Los Angeles Angels for 10 years, a contract worth around 254 Million dollars. Being the by far best free agent in winter of 2011-2012 the only player anywhere near him was Prince fielder, who later was signed to the Detroit Tigers. Albert Pujols was a world series champion. Why leave St.Louis, Why now? 254 Million would make you pack up and move too. But 10 years? I mean Albert will turn 43 in his last year of his contract. He may be one of the best hitters to ever play the game of baseball but 43? The angels think its worth it but they also signed Vernon Wells a while back and this season they owe him 26 million dollars and Torii Hunter 18 Million. Wells being 33 and Hunter being 36, 42 Million to some players leaving there prime, these 2 men have not made much of an impact always coming in 2nd in the west to the powerhouse Texas Rangers and not making a legit playoff run for about 5 years . Albert could turn this team in a good direction but Mark Trumbo who hit 29 homers and with 87 RBI (lead the team in both category's) only makes 414,000 this year maybe its not all about the money.
