I believe that Americas favorite pass time is becoming something that its four fathers did not see in the future. A game that became a business and now is becoming so much more. The additions that the major leagues has made in recent years consist of new ways of officiating the game. Instant replay has become a huge part of the game today. Obviously you play the game to win but when you are (as a manager) going against the official; which for so long in the game has gotten you tossed, you are now able to argue and be proven correct by video replay. We all know that humans are prone to make mistakes, they are human after all. Instant replay could become one of the biggest game changers. That or the use of steroids. Last years national league MVP Ryan Braun one of the games best players was found to be using steroids. He will be serving a 50 game suspension as a punishment from the league to start the 2012 MLB season. Steroids have changed the game making season ending injury's into 6 to 8 week recovery periods. Records have been broken by people that were for sure on steroids. I believe the game should change and bring it back to its original ideas.

I like the message and all of this post but this is killing me, you spelled forefathers wrong. Also, did John Adams and George Washingon even play baseball?

I think with all the money being poured into them they shud be put on as many steriods as humanly possible...and be sponsered by pharmaceutical companies...they shud have steriods that allow them to be able to handle more steriods. I want to watch a 8 foot 6 500 pound monster with wookie hair hit a baseball through another player, and for the game to be over when the other team is dead. People could bet on them instead of the lottery, and it would be freaking awesome.
ReplyDeletei agree with alex. then they should interbreed with american gladiators and create a super race of stupid but really smart humans. eventually our social appetite for violence and brute force will increase and the ancient games from the Coliseum will return and we'll watch them fight lions and tigers and bears (oh my!), and then all the peoples that America has conquered will be forced to fight too, along with all the pacifists
ReplyDeleteIagree with you conpletely. Being a high school baseball player i can relate. Every player who truely loves this game will do anything to keep playing it as long as they can.I don't blame the players for the steroid era. i blame the owners of baseball who push these guys to the edge that they think they need drugs to keep there place on the team and keep making money. Alot of these stars didnt go to college meaning the only way they know how to make money is baseball. If you were in one of theses guys shoes wouldn't you do the same thing?
